The Leatherhead Food Research group poured through thousands of nutritional studies, eliminating those that weren’t the most scientifically convincing. From that shortened list, they designed a 3-course menu that would satisfy as many health markers as possible AND be delicious. The result was what they deem ‘the healthiest meal’ you can have.

It certainly sounds healthy, and the researchers can argue that every single ingredient present is there for a reason: from Omega 3 fish oils which are good for cholesterol, through protein for muscle mass, to walnuts which “contribute to the improvement of the elasticity of blood vessels”.
And actually, for something that’s designed to be as healthy as possible, it doesn’t sound too bad. Well, apart from pudding. Who the hell eats blancmange these days?
