The final Stefon sketch from Saturday Night Live.
The Stefon bit was one of my favorites. I’m gonna miss him

I LOVE this story.
I’m an organ donor, have been for years. Today, I encourage you ALL to sign your organ donation cards, get more information, talk to your family members about it, and give someone a second chance at life.
It’s scary to think about organ donation: it forces us to confront our own mortality. I don’t want you to think of it that way: organ donation doesn’t kill people. It saves lives. I’m hoping to live a very, very long time, but after I’m gone, I can only hope that my body can live on in others and better their quality of life.
One organ donor can save up to 8 lives.

First Bieber, now Ellen.
Twenty-year-old Hélène Campbell from Ottawa sure knows how to grab the attention of celebrities in her bid to raise awareness for organ and blood donation.
Campbell desperately needs a new set of lungs after developing idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis over the summer. The lung disorder has damaged Campbell’s lungs so badly in just a few months, her lung capacity is down to 21 per cent. She’s moved to Toronto with her mother while she awaits a transplant.
Extreme Sports: Tazer Ball
I’m not usually this blunt, but this is eff-in DUMB.
While the tazers being used are certainly not police grade, forcing your muscles to spasm repeatedly can cause all kinds of physiological problems, especially if players have pre-exisiting conditions (which we don’t always know about and can’t always be detected until it’s too late). Not to mention that being tazed, again: repeatedly, WITH an elevated heart rate, while in motion…sigh.
You get what you sign up for. And some things have to get really bad before people start to realize that they are not great ideas. Just hoping someone doesn’t get killed.
The tazer is considered a weapon in Canada.
Ridiculous. I think my favorite quote is ‘“There’s no risk of a heart attack or someone’s brain exploding.”

Tazer Ball: The most shocking extreme sport of the year
A Toronto team is ushering in the world’s newest ultimate sports league, but don’t expect to see a home game anytime soon: One of the pieces of equipment used, a 300,000 volt electroshock gun, is considered a weapon in Canada.
“It’s not technically a police grade Taser,” said Eric Prum, 25, one of the founders of Ultimate Tazer Ball. “That being said, the first thing the [players] will tell you is that they hate getting tased. Those things really do hurt.”
The Toronto Terror is one of four teams in the newly minted Ultimate Tazer Ball league. The game puts two teams of four players on a field about the size of a hockey rink. Players have to get a large ball into a net while avoiding their opponents, all of whom are armed with the device.
“The reason it’s really cool in game play is because it causes your muscles to spasm, therefore you’re going to drop the ball, you’re going to trip, you’re going to fall over. And it’s fun,” said Mr. Prum. “There’s no risk of a heart attack or someone’s brain exploding.”

If you’re not familiar with Canadian politics, you may not know his name. But the news has left many Canadians in tears this morning.
Party lines aside, it was hard not to love Jack.
He was inspiring, funny, vibrant, passionate & loved, loved, LOVED our country. Many tears shed this morning. Flags have been lowered. Thoughts & prayers to his family.

Something really, really cool happened this morning.
When I woke up, and rolled my still-sleepy bod over to the computer to check my email I was floored. Shocked. Speechless. Flabbergasted. My inbox was a sea of new messages! 600+ new email notifications! All from Tumblr!
Whaaaaa???
I had lovely new followers (you!), crazy post-reblogging, hella ‘like’ action and TONS of questions in my Ask! I tried to figure out what I’d done wrong, or what button I’d accidentally pushed (or maybe I was still sleeping?). Mistake right? I mean, don’t get me wrong, I was thrilled, but it just seemed like a lot in only a few hours.
So I logged in and … found out that TUMBLR HAS FEATURED ME IN THEIR FITNESS SPOTLIGHT DIRECTORY!
Get out! Get OUT! AMAZING! Woot! Yay! Happy Dance! Excitement OVERLOAD!
Joy. :)
Seriously, it’s awesome. And really means a lot. A lot. Plus, I’m the only Canadian, which makes my national pride tingle, even though I’m hoping that won’t last very long!
The spotlight feature alone is wicked, BUT I’m also alongside some seriously amazeballs fit-bloggers. These guys are fitness BEASTS! If you’re NOT already following them, do it now. Your body will love you for it, and you’ve probably seen me reblog their stuff from time to time. I am in awe that I’m in their company. Complete awe. They inspire me tons. (Wow. Am I gonna cry? Oh no… I think I might! Ahhhh, my mushy emotional side is showing!)
Whew… Moving on!:)
In addition to that big ball of awesomenews, I’ve been getting SO many questions from you & messages that have been making my heart melt. Your feedback is truly appreciated, fellow beautiful bad asses. I read every question, every message, every reply and LOVE them. But of course, things are getting busier and busier and this recent surge has meant a few things for me and my bloggy space…
One: I’m going to be redesigning in the next few weeks to make sure that the site is easy for you to navigate & find information on your favorite topics. I wasn’t sure where this blog was going at first, but I’ve got a clearer idea now and more importantly, I want to be able to share & connect with all of you in the simplest, easiest way possible. Work, yes. But it’s gonna be soooooo worth it!
Two: Fit Villains is expanding! I’m going to be getting some help from a few local trainer friends who I have mad lovin’ for! That means more body image posts, workouts, recipes, motivational blah blah, VIDEOS (yay!) & covering all the topics that we love to love! For me, more posts means more discussion, and I’m kinda addicted to hearing your thoughts & getting your points of view. You guys inspire me every single day and I love your fearlessness when replying. Keep it up homies!
Three: More questions means more answers! I’ve been posting my replies as quick as I can, but a sudden boost in my Ask means I’ll need a little more time replying. While I’d love to get one on one with each of you, I may group similar questions together & will be posting video replies to some of the more common & recurring questions I receive. I really try to make sure to give you guys the most recent information, using solid resources that encourage healthy living, shameless self-lovin’ & fitness development. So don’t be discouraged if you haven’t seen a reply right away! It means I’m taking the time to make sure to get you the best answer possible, k? Keep sending them in rock stars!
Lastly, a big old thanks to those who’ve been supporting this little project of mine over the last few months! I’ve learned tons and tons, will continue to make mistakes, but am hella grateful that I’ve had as much support as I do! It’s mind-blowing that I literally have THOUSANDS of you following along & being a part of my fit-life. I really do mean this from the bottom of my heart: you guys are AMAZING. Newbies: I can’t wait to get to know you too!
Ahhhhhhh, life in the spotlight. Crazy, but so far, I like it.
Wishing you ‘Bad Ass Beautiful Energy’ and all the self-loving you can handle,
Talk soon, right? Right. :)
