Stuff I Dig

Dry, frizzy or fly-away hair? Leave in conditioners are your best friends. But they can be expensive, full of chemicals & hard to know what works & what doesn’t.

Jojoba oil is relatively easy to find in natural health stores or online and is similar to the oil our own bodies produce (makes it a very effective hair oil)/. You’ve seen it on labels & in commercials for some of the biggest hair companies, but now you can make your own jojoba oil conditioner at home.

You’ll Need

  • 1/4 cup jojoba oil
  • 1 tbsp. extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 to 2 drops lavender essential oil
  • Small mixing bowl
  • Glass storage bottle (darker is better)

How to Make

1. Whisk jojoba Oil & extra virgin olive oil together in mixing bowl. Add lavender drops & continue whisking.

2. Transfer the mixture to a small, dark-colored glass storage bottle. Store in a cool, dark place when not in use.

How to Use

Massage a small amount of the conditioner through your hair, beginning at the scalp and working your fingers down to the ends.

  • For the best results, use the leave-in conditioner just before styling your hair, and reapply as needed to keep your hair shiny and smooth.
  • Not recommended for oily hair. It works best for dry and normal hair.
